Social Media Marketing

Social Media

Social media is the whole concept of social interaction online. Places where friends and colleagues can catch up with each other, chat and stay connected. It's in these social media circles where much is discussed about places to go, things to do and personal experiences with companies all around. Companies online reputation is starting to be a large driving factor for Google search results. Google (and other search engines) are putting strong emphasis on what "others are saying" about local businesses it is returning results for. Think of it this way: If Google is returning ABC Company first in its results, but social media circles give it bad reviews, do you really think Google will want to rank them as the most relevant search result? Answer: No. Online reputation has a lot to do in the ever changing algorithm mastermind of Google search relevance.

Votes of Popularity

Backlinks were hot and still are great. But "likes" are the new links! In other words, the more Facebook "likes" and other favorable ratings and reviews in social media, the better your pull in getting optimal search results. After all, isn't word-of-mouth the best advertising? Google agrees and scans the Internet for all it can learn about every company. Google recently launched its own version of "liking" something known as +1. You may have noticed this little button next to Google search results. It's your way of telling the world or giving votes of popularity to certain web pages. Why don't you right now go down in the bottom right of each of our webpages and click the Google +1 icon, that give us a "vote" of popularity. Also, just over to our WebTek Facebook page and "like" us there too.
